Laurel Lawson
Laurel is a co-founder and CTO at CyCore Systems, a consultancy specializing in solving novel multi-realm problems. She leads product architecture with a data-driven focus on highly performant usability and contextual interfaces. A veteran activist and community leader, Laurel is active as a leader and mentor in organizations working for inclusion and disability rights. She is a founding city leader for the Atlanta chapter of AnitaB.org, which hosts events for mid-career, senior, and executive women and nonbinary people in tech, and is a key organizer for the nationwide celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Laurel is also a working dancer and choreographer, performing with both Full Radius Dance and Kinetic Light, and is the designer and product lead of Audimance, which creates a novel nonvisual way of experiencing performing art through virtual environments. When not at the computer or in the studio, she’s likely to be found on the ice; Laurel is also a member of the USA Women’s Sled Hockey team.
